What makes this stretch of the Danube special is that the river splits in two here: between the old channel and the hydro plant's new canal you find Doborgaz and DANUBike. The area is dotted with side arms, oxbow lakes and floodplain forest – a paradise for paddlers.

Good to know

Danube current varies: on the main channel we recommend going on the water only with a guide. The old channel and oxbow lakes are almost always safe for beginners too. Depending on water level and weather, tours do not run every day – worth agreeing before you arrive.
